30 Days of Thanks – 2013 – Day 15

Today I am thankful for Jewish penicillin AKA matzo ball soup.  When the doctor tells me it’s a virus, and says rest (and I can’t, or can’t as much as I’d like) – a hot bowl of soup always makes me feel better.  It’s the best when my mama makes it, or when I have the time to, or if I can get the soup from Mo’s in Burbank, CA. There is something about the combination of stewed carrots, herbs, celery, onion, noodles, boiled chicken and a giant matzoh ball (or a few smaller ones) that heals like nothing else. And for that, I am grateful.
