Bloggy Makeovers and Stimulating the Senses

I thought it would take me longer than the weekend…but apparently sometimes a fire gets lit under my rear end and things happen faster than I hope!

Those changes I had talked about are in full swing – so let me tell you what’s new so far:

I finally sucked it up and purchased a cool (well, I think it’s cool) theme from WordPress and gussied things up a bit.  I wanted a cleaner background and a little more purple in my life…and now I have it. If in the future, I get bored again and decide I want to change colors or add a snazzy background, I can. I also get to choose my fonts with this theme.  And really, the only thing that makes me more amused than OPI nail color names is different font names and styles, so you can imagine the time I spent futzing around with those. Way too much. But now, I’m happy with the feel of it…

If you look at the URL at the top of your screen, you’ll also notice that has changed. It used to include the “WordPress” moniker and now it does not (not that there was anything wrong with that.) For awhile now I’ve owned www.myown2sense.com, but for a million stupid reasons (mostly technology-related), I never mapped it so that my blog has a home there.  Now it does! A little more me, a little more streamlined, still powered by WordPress.com and with all the convenience that comes with it. Score!

This leads me to the last and most important change, since I’ve now done the gussying and the streamlining, I get to add the piece I’ve been longing to add — positive content! We are so bombarded daily by news of the bad, worse and unthinkable; frankly, there is nothing that we can do about most of it.  The one thing we can do is focus on our “present”, the here and now and feed the positivity that lies therein.  So from now on, many of my posts will be about things that tickle my fancy, that delight my senses, and hopefully yours.  Along the top of the blog you’ll be able to click on a “sense” and be treated to something that might be hopeful, fun, entertaining or encouraging. Now, you’ll be getting not just my 2 “sense” on life, but all 5!

I know that appreciating these things helps keep me grounded and reminds me that life isn’t all bad, despite what the media wants us to think – I hope some of the things you’ll find here in the future might do the same for you.
