Well, here’s another one for my bucket list folks. I spent many a year of my childhood and several of my adulthood vacationing or visiting clients on the East coast of the United States. You see, in one of my former lives I was a travel agent, then business development supervisor for the world’s largest student travel agency. I covered New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, parts of Pennsylvania and even Rhode Island, not to mention the rest of the country. Some trips were just fly-bys (I made it from Boston to Newark in under three hours once to catch a flight – to this day I still don’t know how.)
Several of the others were trips that lasted several weeks and felt more like I had moved temporarily. Those were my favorite trips — my grandparents lived in an apartment in Manhattan, and then a condo in New Jersey that had the New York skyline as the view. We would stay with them, take public transportation everywhere, and soak up all that was cultural or that tasted good. Those were halcyon days, indeed.
I would love to take the little monkey there as well, but since this post is not about the letter “N,” I need to get back to “D.” Never have my travels, personal or otherwise taken me to the White House, the Smithsonian nor the plethora of other museums that one can find there. The Vietnam War Memorial, The National Air and Space Museum, the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, Georgetown, Mt. Vernon, and Alexandria. So much to see, so much history to experience….
Such a bother really that I haven’t made it there thus far…
but I’m so glad there is more for me to explore, not only by myself, but with the ones I love.

Stay tuned during the month of April to see what other subjects I want to explore…I’ll return to my senses on May 1.
I would love to go see D.C. sometime….my bucket list is getting out of control here – ha!

DC is one of my favorite places in the world. So much to do and see and all the Smithsonian museums and memorials are free!
I hope you make it there one day. 🙂

I’ve only been to DC once but I really enjoyed it. We did not stay nearly long enough.
