Can’t Feel My Face – The Weeknd

Since you’ve now had Shut Up and Dance in your head for a sufficiently long enough period of time, I’m here to give you a new earwig for the weekend, by…The Weeknd!  Nope, couldn’t help it.

I am pretty confident you will love this song if you are a fan of Michael Jackson’s music (especially the Off The Wall period), if you are a fan of Prince and his funkiness or if you just like a good groove.

The Weeknd is just one young Canadian dude of Ethiopian descent from Canada by the name of Abel Tesfaye making music that is blowing up the R&B world right now, and frankly it’s all over most radio stations I listen to, not just R&B. He’s got a song on the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack as well (but I won’t push you to listen to that one…because I can’t in good conscience push anything Shades-related…not because I’m prude, because I’m not, but because the quality of the writing of the novel was so damn awful).

The lyrics remind me of drinking red wine…because when I do, my lips go numb…but I love it…but I love it.

I can't feel my face when I drink you....but I love it...but I love it...
I can’t feel my face when I drink you….but I love it…but I love it…

I can’t feel my face when I’m with you
But I love it, but I love it, oh
I can’t feel my face when I’m with you
But I love it, but I love it, oh

  1. Love it. And I’m still laughing about the Shades related comment. I found myself saying the exact same thing to a friend of mine. She said if I could just get past the writing, I would really enjoy it. Haha, it doesn’t work that way!
