This is a super important one, so…listen up 🙂
Most people I would venture to say, listen to respond. That means that while they seem to be listening to the person that is talking, they are only listening to be able to say something back. This is okay, sometimes….banter is fun, right? But to be a friend and to know someone, takes understanding.
So the next time you are having a conversation with someone, and you either get excited because you really like what they’re saying and it reminds you of something that happened to you and you want to tell them about it…or you aren’t interested particularly in the topic…take a pause and try to understand why they’re telling you what they are. Why is this important to the other person? Try to figure it out…ask questions. Really listen to what they’re saying…
Listening to understand…is a kindness.

Stay tuned during the month of April to see other ways in which you can incorporate kindness into your daily life and encourage others to do the same…I’ll return to my senses on May 1.
Really listening is critical which most of the people avoid. I completely agree to what you say.

Yes, really listening to another is an act of kindness and consideration. We all want our voices heard, but someone has to be the listener! 🙂
